Tree Cultivation / Sales Operations

Our company mainly cultivates garden trees including Inumaki and Rakanmaki. We have a large number of Inumaki grown to more than 2 meters in trunk circumference. Furthermore, we also sell pine, sasanqua camellia and Japanese maple. Please feel free to contact us at anytime.

Inumaki Tree

  • Scientific name: Podocarpus macrophyllus
  • Also known as: Maki, Kusamaki
  • Place of origin: Japan (west of Kanto region to Okinawa)
  • Height: 2 to 5 meters

Inumaki trees are tough, strong, fast-growing coniferous trees that also grows wild in temperate areas. Suited to be grown in gardens, Inumaki is a popular variety for garden trees.

Rakanmaki

  • Scientific name: Podocarpus macrophyllus (Thunb) Lamb. var. maki Sieb.
  • Also known as: Maki
  • Place of origin: Japan (west of Kanto region to Okinawa)
  • Height: 4 to 10 meters

Rakanmaki is a variant of Inumaki. Since Rakanmaki is a slow-growing tree, it’s form is beautiful and more valuable. The tree features short, whitish leaves and its berries look like monks (also known as rakan) in robes, hence the name Rakanmaki. The red berries are edible.

When bending branches, we do not use chisels as it can cause branches to be damaged or rot. Please check the conditions of the branches when purchasing a tree with large bent branches from other companies.
